About the wine
Wine Advisor's Top Tip
- 91% of 28,000 Angels loved the previous Villebois vintages and told us they would definitely buy them again. Well, fill your boots folks because Joost has surpassed himself and the 2011 is the BEST yet!
- It's French, it's French Sauvignon, it's French Sauvignon from the Loire. Yet it's cheaper than most of its New World counterparts, and that's thanks to YOU and thousands of other Angels.
- Its beauty lies in its explosive fruit. All gooseberries and crisp green apples, that are offset by a fabulous minerality. Oh, and it's fresh-as-a-daisy and ready for drinking right NOW...

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Joost de Villebois
Years Angel-funded: 2013-18
- Joost knows how to preserve the heritage of the Loire region while catering to new world consumers.
- He started out in the '90s, producing 2 barrels a year in an old farmhouse... now, with Villebois, he highlights all the best parts of French whites, 24/7. And he passed the Angel torch to his lead winemaker, Patrice Grasset- who makes the Loire Valley wines you love today!
- Winemaking's a real team effort, Joost says. He's so glad to have had you on part of his!
