Jérémy Corsin's Story
In the heart of the picturesque vineyards of southern Burgundy, you'll find Jérémy Corsin. At just 30, he's carrying on a tradition that spans six generations, managing a family estate steeped in history since the early 1900s.
"I grew up here, working from a young age. Naturally, I was drawn to the ins and outs of the vine and wine trade," he explains.
For Jérémy, winemaking is a full-bodied craft. "Everything from A to Z is done here on the estate. These have been our vines and lands for a very long time. Working in the vineyards and seeing the final product, a bottle of wine on the world's finest tables, is truly satisfying," he says.
The family estate is nestled snugly in the Maconnais region of Southern Burgundy, where Jérémy makes his beloved Chardonnay wines. Cooled by the nearby Mediterranean Sea, these grapes thrive and the limestone-rich soils give the wines a special touch you won't find elsewhere in Burgundy (compare it to Chablis!).
As Jérémy reflects on the estate's dedication to making excellent Chardonnay, he notes, "We produce around 80,000 to 100,000 bottles of white wines made from our Chardonnay grapes. We have never wanted to expand the estate to other appellations or grape varieties — we want to concentrate our energy on producing the best possible Chardonnay wines."
And when it comes to selling the wines, Jérémy stresses the importance of keeping things fair. "It is important to sell at a fair price and it’s important to pay our employees fairly for their commitment and hard work every day. We all want to make investments to develop the estate and facilitate the work," he says. It's a way of honoring the bond between winemakers and those who enjoy their wines.
In Maconnais, where finding a good price-to-quality ratio is still possible (unlike in most of Burgundy), every bottle tells a story of resilience, passion, and shared love for wine. Jérémy Corsin crafts wines that are beyond mere drinks — they're a testament to generations of dedication to the art and science of winemaking.
