About the wine
The oldest wine on the site, aged 7 years for your pleasure!
- It’s not just common old Reserva, this is Gran Reserva - and in Spain this actually means something. Only top quality grapes are used. These come from 30+ year old Tempranillo vines growing very low, concentrated yields at up to 750 meters above sea level, and that's why the grapes that have the best flavors, structure and intensity.
- And the wine is matured slowly, in toasty oak barrels to give it that mellow, smooth, caramel and vanilla flavor and intense combination of firmness and silky smoothness. Yum!
- And this winemaker isn't just asking you to sit on the bottle for six years, he's already aged the wine himself so you're getting a 2008 that is ready to enjoy today!
Best before
As said before the wine is lovely now, it will benefit maybe for 1-2 years of ageing, but I would not keep it longuer that 3 years
Serving advice
Very important to open the wine minimum 1 h in advance, as tempranillo is a variety that trends to be a bit close sometimes and needs some oxygenation to show its best
Food match
Nornally this wines are good for strong food, casseroles, meat, but I have put a lot of effort to soften it as much as possible to be able to have it with lighter food like pasta or rice dishes.
ThatÂ’s a `personal thing, but I have to say that I love it with asian spicy food, and with an spicy BBQ, maybe it sounds an estrange match, but I love it, and maybe worth a try.

Found by accident, tucked away! While it was recommended to open years ago, it has aged VERY WELL! Goes great with spicy food and even a glass on its own.
Wow.... Was looking in the cooler and forgot I had it ... I will not make that mistake again.........
Love this wine!
Pulled this one out of my wine fridge the other day and was disappointed. Big wine but kind of raisiny, and not as much fruit as I was hoping for. Probably should have opened it when I first got it, rather than waiting.
Lost in my cellar. This was sublime!
liked the richness than comes from older wines. Being a 2009 this was really well-rounded and full-bodied. Very enjoyable.
Wonderful temperanillo!!
