About the wine
Barrel-aged Cabernet from your most popular winemaker
- This elegant Cabernet is a bona fide Angel-funded classic, bursting with ripe black cherry flavor and velvety richness that's made it truly beloved, with a 95% lifetime rating over 9 vintages.
- Your funding helped Stephen Millier pull out all the stops for his 9th vintage of Black Label Cabernet, blending fruit from California’s big red country, Lodi, with grapes from his own estate in the Sierra Foothills.
- Stephen aged this luscious red in French and American oak barrels for extra complexity. Just one sip and you know why Angels can’t get enough.
Best before
This wine should age quite well the next 3-5 years, so don't stress about opening it too soon. Pick a time to crack one open and work on your guest list.
Serving advice
Just because I said you don't have to stress about when to open doesn't mean you can forget about it. Stock up and open one about 1 hour before you serve it.
Food match
This is big, so I say "go big or go home." It needs a big-time dinner presentation. That's when we prepare the 3-finger (thick) steak slow roasted with herb-infused butter.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Stephen Millier
- Stephen is no stranger to gold medals, but usually his prestigious employers are the only ones in the limelight.
- We offered Stephen some Angel funding to set aside some of his favorites wines and vineyards to make a special range with his name on the label just for us, and he jumped at the opportunity.
- If you like underdogs, Stephen's your man. He will find the over-looked and under-appreciated and he will take precious care to make sure they grow into big, beautiful wines that deserve more attention.
