About the wine
Balanced, complex and expensive-tasting wine for under $10
- Jim's made a smooth, easy drinking red with perfectly ripe dark fruit and an interesting edge of depth and complexity. And he's done it for a steal.
- His beguiling blend takes a traditional Bordeaux approach (which is why he calls it BX) of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec – and then he breaks all the rules by adding a healthy splash of Syrah. In Bordeaux, they'd be shocked senseless to see this blend, but Angels give Jim the freedom to break the rules and make the best wine possible.
- Jim says he made this balanced, complex wine for flavorful meats like lamb kebabs on the grill and my mouth is watering just thinking of that combo.

Meet the winemaker - Jim Olsen
Years Angel-funded: 2012-18
- Jim didn't just study wine at the University of California, he taught about it for 30 years.
- Before Naked, he worked mainstream jobs like La Crema and held quirkier side gigs - like growing Portuguese grapes in Californian soil.
- Jim spent decades in California cellars. At Naked, he found the most surprising deals for Angels - delighting you with Winemaker Fantasy wines (like White Barbera!) as a true champion of the rare varieties and vineyards in the state.
