About the wine
A citrusy treasure from California's North Coast
- This white is a citrus circus of bright lemon and melons – even tropical tastes like pineapple and pear – all carefully brought out by Ondine to showcase how well these grapes grow in her beloved North Coast.
- Thanks to you, Ondine was able to work with two vineyards from her favorite Northern California region to make you a white with tons of character. Treasures like this are what your support is all about!
- Let it chill in the fridge for a bit before popping the cork and pairing it alongside a wedge of cheese and crackers or a basket of farmer’s market strawberries.
Best before
Sauvignon Blanc produced in this fresh, un-oaked style does not benefit from extended aging. Enjoy it best over the next two years but ideally over the next 12 months. Enjoy it soon and we will make more.
Serving advice
The soft pop sound made by pulling a cork holds so much anticipation, a delightful prelude and important component to the enjoyment of the wine. To show it at its best, chill to about 48 F before serving, cooler is fine as well but cooler temperatures may subdue the aromatics.
Food match
Honey-tarragon glazed shrimp, a wedge of bloomy-rind cheese such as Humbolt Fog served with olive oil crackers, or just perfectly with a simple fresh-picked basket of strawberries from the Nelson Family's roadside stand on the main route through Hopland.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ondine Chattan
Unmistakably one of the North Coast’s top winemaking talents, Ondine Chattan’s worked for wine institutions – famed wineries like Ridge Vineyards, Cline Cellars, and spent decades running famed Healdsburg winery Geyser Peak.
Does Geyser Peak sound familiar? It should – it’s the long-time winemaking home of one legendary Daryl Groom – and it’s where these decades-long colleagues and friends met. They’re still close… in fact, they might collaborate on exclusive wines now and again.*wink.*
Ondine is awestruck by the wine community Angels have built – and she wants to help it grow. “I truly connect to people through the wines I make,” she said. “The stories of the growers, the vineyards, and the process behind the wine are as vital to me as grapes.”
