About the wine
Australia's Shiraz capital will win you over
This Shiraz starts intense but shows you its heart of gold. Stacked with blackberries and fruit, its soft touch comes in thanks to 10 months of rest in seasoned French Oak.
Even though less than 3% of Australian wines are made in this Southern Australian zone, Clare Valley is peak winemaking country. Adam’s one of the few local farmers left - and he brings its prize to you.
…loads of Clare’s wineries are owned by foreign moguls now, who don’t know the magic of the place quite like Adam. You get access - from an indie guy who can flip rabbits from his hat.
Best before
Will develop further complexity over 5-8 years
Serving advice
Decant before serving - letting the wine breathe allows the wine to open up
Food match
Pairs well with hard cheeses like Comte, cheddar or aged gouda.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Adam Barton
Hailing from Australia's highly regarded Clare Valley, Adam Barton launched his winemaking career after tasting a glass of Lindemans 1965 Hunter River Burgundy. It was "magic," as Adam described it.
Winemaking since 2001, Adam carefully selects his vineyards and growing partners, and throws in lots of care and attention to the smallest details.
Thanks to Angel support, Adam has the freedom to experiment with making unconventional blends with different grape varieties – pushing the envelope to make award-winning wines for you.
