About the wine
This Double Gold Aussie Shiraz is ripe, refined and ready to wow!
-
This is a decadent and inky red from the most iconic Shiraz vineyards on the continent. And it just won Double Gold at the Sunset International Wine Competition. G'day, soulmate.
-
Adam sought out and harvested the most “gnarly, old, and well-loved” vines in the "Adelaide Super Zone" (in Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, and Clare Valley). They produce fewer grapes, but they're intense and packed with incredibly rich texture.
- ...and every famous drop was hand-harvested and handcrafted. Thanks to you, this award-winning, small-batch Shiraz was given every bit of tender care imaginable - now it’s your treasure to enjoy.
Best before
2018 was an exceptional vintage for Shiraz in South Australia. This wine will drink well now, but will reward cellaring for over ten years.
Serving advice
In these uncertain times, open with certainty that it will be delicious. Also, decant, decant, decant! Let it breathe for an hour or so to get the best out of the wine because a serious wine requires a certain level of seriousness.
Food match
6 hour low'n'slow barbecued brisket with maple beetroot glaze, braised mushrooms and a simple green salad...YUM!
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Adam Barton
Hailing from Australia's highly regarded Clare Valley, Adam Barton launched his winemaking career after tasting a glass of Lindemans 1965 Hunter River Burgundy. It was "magic," as Adam described it.
Winemaking since 2001, Adam carefully selects his vineyards and growing partners, and throws in lots of care and attention to the smallest details.
Thanks to Angel support, Adam has the freedom to experiment with making unconventional blends with different grape varieties – pushing the envelope to make award-winning wines for you.
