Champagne specialist, ex-Ruinart and Mouton Rothschild
- Expert Champagne-maker from Ruinart ($100-$200/bottle). He knows how to make really expensive French Champagne.
- Elite winemakers like Jean-Philippe Moulin are a rare breed. For 20 years he's been quietly producing some of the most famous wines on the planet (Ruinart, Mumm, Perrier Jouet, Baron de Rothschild, to name a few...) To those in the know, the guy is a legend.
- Using the same source of grapes and techniques behind some of those world famous labels, he's produced a line-up of top-shelf Champagne with his name on the label.

Jean Philippe Moulin's Story
Real Champagne from Champagne!
"In 1977, I began my career in Champagne working as an agriculture engineer specializing in viticulture and oenology.
I began working as a winemaker as I've always been interested in the wine and especially wine making. It's a nice mix between science, quality, creativity and innovation.
My favorite parts of the job are: the harvest, as every year is different, the winemaking because of the exaltation of developing a new vintage every year, the communication around the product and the pleasure of tasting beautiful wines.
I produce unique champagnes based on the chardonnay grapes, with long aging on the lees in our cellars.
My greatest achievements include vintage blending with Louise Pommery and Dom Ruinart, also my involvement in some great projects like Scharffenberger winery in California, or the Pommery winery.
Some of my most memorable moments include a wine festival in Hawaii on the island of Maui, the round trip in the US to launch the '96 Dom Ruinart vintage and presenting a masterclass in Japan, holding 80 sommeliers focus over 4 hours.
In the future, climate warming will be the biggest challenge, as it will change a lot of things in viticulture and winemaking.
I am very proud that many of the wines I have been responsible for have received a lot of awards in many French and International contests."
Jean Philippe's Archangels
I learned to love wine in 2003, from my wine-loving in-laws in Germany. My favorite wine ever is Grauburgunder from my homeland. I mostly drink dry "interesting" whites and bold reds. I love indigenous grapes from less-common wine regions. I love visiting wineries in my wine-producing state. I also love champagne and cava and don't just think they're for special occasions or brunch.
In the past I would have described myself as a lover of reds. Since being involved with Naked Wines and the winemakers and other participants, I've opened my horizons and really embraced all wines and the qualities they have to offer. Knowledge is power.
