- Carmen's bold, juicy Shiraz is a classic South African red, flush with intense, concentrated dark fruit flavors and a rich, mouth-filling texture that carry through to the long, soul-warming finish.
- With your support, Carmen was able to harvest grapes from two distinct Shiraz vineyards in the Swartland region of South Africa, where high-quality Shiraz flourishes. She fermented each block separately to let each vineyard’s unique, powerfully fruity character shine through in the final blend.
- Shiraz is the kind of wine that can stand up to BIG flavors, so you can pair this red with everything from pizza decked out with your favorite toppings, to a fiery Indian curry.
Best before
This Reserve Shiraz is delicious now and has the ability to age for 3-7 years, in which time all the prominent primary fruit flavors will develop even more complexity.
Serving advice
For best results, decant this Shiraz for a minimum of 30 minutes before enjoying it. The contact that the wine will have with the oxygen will bring all the trapped flavors front and center, and help to smooth out the texture.
Food match
Shiraz is one of the most versatile wines in terms of food pairings. I decided on seared tuna steaks served on a creamy polenta and a light soya sauce. The fusion of the salty element of the wine and the savory element of the soya works well to make a perfect food-wine combination.
