About the wine
Super-delicate, fresh and light Pinot - from your Rookie of the Year
A special selection from Chris – traditional austere Pinot, made extra silky from a combo of barrel and bottle aging.
After winning your 1st ever Rookie of the Year award, Chris worked quickly to make you an easy-drinking Pinot to celebrate – calling up his friends in Willamette to put together a blend of Pinot from three local vineyards. Perfection.
This is just the start for Chris – he's in the cellar as we speak, putting the finishing touches on seriously special new Pinots from his favorite Willamette AVAs. Enjoy this wine now... while you eagerly await what's next!
Best before
It is approachable young so don't be afraid to drink it early, but does has structure to age for a few years. Given the 2017 vintage, and the rains that came in October, I would say 1-5 years will be its prime.
Serving advice
It gets better as it sits in the glass. Perhaps open it 30 minutes before serving, and then be sure to revisit it after having a glass.
Food match
Pinot Noir is extremely versatile when it comes to food. For me the best thing is my personal recipe for a caramelized Carlton Farms pork tenderloin with chanterelle mushrooms. Other favorites are duck breast or a more delicate option a fresh Steelhead fillet.
