About the wine
80 year old vines in the hands of a true Zinfandel master
- Stephen blended hand-harvested Old Vine Zinfandel grapes for your decadent red. These old vines - some 80+ years old! - grow fewer grapes but have more developed, concentrated flavor.
- "My goal was to make a very rich, full-bodied Zinfandel with oak nuance, and Angels let me do exactly that," Stephen says. Wines like this one usually sell for a minimum of $35 and up!
- This small-lot Zin is packed with character. "I love this with braised short ribs and buttermilk mashed potatoes," says your winemaker. "Perfect for chilly weather."
Best before
This wine being full bodied will age gracefully for several years. I suggest buying several bottles and watch over (drink)them as they get better with age.
Serving advice
When first released this wine will benefit with a little air before tasting. I suggest letting it sit in your glass and then swirl. It should blossom before your very eyes.
Food match
Short ribs braised in a brown sauce with buttermilk mashed potatoes are going to be my first choice when the weather gives us our first chilly night.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Stephen Millier
- Stephen is no stranger to gold medals, but usually his prestigious employers are the only ones in the limelight.
- We offered Stephen some Angel funding to set aside some of his favorites wines and vineyards to make a special range with his name on the label just for us, and he jumped at the opportunity.
- If you like underdogs, Stephen's your man. He will find the over-looked and under-appreciated and he will take precious care to make sure they grow into big, beautiful wines that deserve more attention.
