Jim Olsen Angel's Delight Dessert Wine 2014
About the wine
The first Californian fortified wine funded by Angels by a real Port-style expert
- Luxuriously rich and sweet with intense ripe fruit and a strong finish. This little half-bottle packs a full punch. Jim has championed fortified "Port-styled" wines like this for decades.
- But he wanted to use traditional Portuguese varieties being grown in California, and the traditional market doesn't understand grapes like Touriga Nacional. It's only thanks to Angel funding that he can make this wine year after year.
- This is a big, smooth sipper that you can enjoy slowly over a few days with some strong cheese or a nice cigar.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Jim Olsen
Years Angel-funded: 2012-18
- Jim didn't just study wine at the University of California, he taught about it for 30 years.
- Before Naked, he worked mainstream jobs like La Crema and held quirkier side gigs - like growing Portuguese grapes in Californian soil.
- Jim spent decades in California cellars. At Naked, he found the most surprising deals for Angels - delighting you with Winemaker Fantasy wines (like White Barbera!) as a true champion of the rare varieties and vineyards in the state.
