M.A.D. Dashe Contra Costa Late Harvest Zinfandel (500ml) 2022
About the wine
Zinfandel for dessert - yes, please!
Dripping with flavors like blackberry cobbler, cherry pie, chocolate and sweet spice, this is literally dessert in a glass – smooth and glossy – your after-dinner shining star.
Angel funding gave Mike and Anne access to primo Zinfandel from vineyards in Contra Costa, California, where the grapes hang on the vine longer – that’s where the “late harvest” comes in! – to achieve the ripe, concentrated flavors in this luscious sweet sipper.
You’ve found your sweet spot! Make a mad dash to get this specially-sized bottle (it’s 500ml, as opposed to a traditional 750ml wine bottle) while it lasts!
Best before
This wine is perfect to drink right after bottling, but will continue to evolve and be a wonderful dessert wine for 10 years or more.
Serving advice
This can be opened and consumed immediately upon opening. No need to decant unless it has been aged for over 7 years.
Food match
Wonderful with cheese, with desserts such as molten chocolate cake or vanilla panna cotta, with figs or nuts - or even as an aperitif with crackers and pâté.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Michael & Anne Dashe
-
Michael and Anne Dashe have worked with many top wineries — Ridge Vineyards, Far Niente, Chappellet, Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château La Dominique — but have developed style all their own. Elegant, balanced wines made with minimal additives, natural yeasts, and grapes from small family farms are their signature!
-
In their urban winery on Spirits Alley (an old Naval Airbase in Alameda, CA), Michael and Anne are using non-industrial winemaking techniques that allow them to highlight the fruit and emphasize the wine’s balance — crafting California Zinfandels in a unique style.
- Although the Dashes have both worked at many wineries famous for Cabernet Sauvignon, their reputation really began with world-class Dry Creek Zinfandel. “Angels, we’re ready to show you that a well-made Zinfandel can be an absolute picture of sophistication and beauty: visually, aromatically, texturally, and flavorfully,” Mike says.
