About the wine
The ultimate grab-and-go white
- The Russian River Valley is famous for growing world-class Pinot Noir and Chardonnay...but it's a little-known secret that the climate helps to grow spectacular Sauv Blanc as well.
- Full of crisp lemon and lime flavors, this citrus-filled white sets a refreshing standard.
- The best part? The screw cap makes this crisp white a perfect accompaniment to picnics, parties and poolside – no corkscrew required.

This wine sings fresh citrus, with a very pleasant, acidic finish. Paired great with a spicy grilled chicken. I will definitely reorder, as i can see it becoming my new staple in the warmer summer months!

It's WTW (Wine Tasting Weekend) and its SPRING! The flowers are arriving, and the temp, well, it's not super great yet, but it's moving up...and I have 3, count'em, 3 wines I'll be tasting this weekend. The choices from the cellar this weekend are the following: Mick Schroeter 2023 Russian River Sauvignon Blanc, Scott Kelley 2023 Oregon Pinot Noir, and Quevedo Family 2020 Mos Vineyard Portugal Tempranillo Touriga Franca. As always, where there's a white, it gets first taste, so that means Mick's Sauvignon Blanc is on deck! Let's see how it tastes!
In the glass, the wine is a medium yellow to gold in color.
Sniffy Sniff time – on the nose of this wine I'm sensing a lot of citrus fruit, grapefruit, and some muted floral notes.
Tasty Taste time – moving to the palate, the citrus fruit continues, with lemon, lime, and gooseberry with hints of minerality and some steeliness. Very crisp acidity with a lovely texture, and a finish that is dry and flavorful. Nice!
As my Peeps know, I prefer reds to most whites, and of the whites, Sauvignon Blancs aren't a big fave of mine, but I do enjoy a fair number of them. I absolutely LOVED Mick's Sparkling Shiraz, which I realize can be a polarizing choice, but my palate likes what it likes, eh? Given Mick's 2022 SB was a 2024 Wine of the Year nominee, I'm glad I got to taste the latest vintage. That being said, I think this is a very nice SB representative, and one I would drink again, but as noted, not a varietal I will seek out typically. I did enjoy it and it ends up on the LIKE scale for me.
I'm a die hard fan of the Nakedwines.com prior heart rating scale, to provide a bit more nuance to my rating beyond Like and Love (1-5): 3.5 hearts!

I paired a mushroom bean dish with this and it went well with the savory flavors. I tried dark chocolate and I would not recommend LOL

Best Sauvignon Blanc ever (for me). It avoids the too fruity tastes and stays dry and crisp with lighter Sauvignon Blanc tones. I was in New Zealand recently and found them too fruity. This is a great wine!

Oh yes. Love it. Delicious. It went well with 2" pork chops!
