About the wine
A small batch treasure, just 500 cases of hand-harvested, barrel-aged, brilliant Pinot Noir
- Brilliant, mouth-filling Pinot Noir that makes you want to leap out of your chair and dance because it got every bit of care Ben Glover could come up with.
- Hand-harvested grapes from 2 north-facing slopes in the southern valleys of Marlborough - these vines are planted unusually close together for Marlborough vineyards (5000 vines/hectare). The grapes cold soak for 6-8 days and Ben gives them incredible amounts of attention as they ferment in small open-topped fermenters, the way Pinot should be done. All topped off with 12 months in French oak barrels...mmmMMM.
- This Pinot is less hefty than some of the Californian Pinot on the site, and has a fresh, vibrant side that makes it the perfect pairing for more delicate food like smoked salmon!
Best before
3-5 years ageing drinking fantastically well now but will also reads the (non-existent) patient
imbiber.
Serving advice

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ben Glover
- Ben is an award-winning winemaker who made truly yummy wines for some of New Zealand's biggest brands, but he really missed making small batches of artisan wine from his family vines.
- Angel funding lets him do just that, so we've got a couple small batches of Pinot Noir and Chard (the same varieties that earned him accolades at Wither Hills) and everything gets the royal treatment, every little detail attended to with care and love just short of giving each individual grape a first and last name
- Ben's a specialist at New Zealand Pinot Noir and Chardonnay - his wines are the golden standard for the entire country!
