About the wine
A rich stack of yum from the iconic Douro Valley
“Xisto” means “shale” in Portuguese - a shoutout to the soil the Douro Valley is famous for. Soil can be cool - it makes this Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Sousão blend killer - deep, rich and powerful.
“On top of these hills, you will almost touch the sky,” says Oscar. You wouldn't believe how craned this vineyard is. The grapes work HARD to be here - and develop brooding, spiced and undeniably bright flavor in the glass.
Because Oscar and Claudia Quevedo own the land they harvest from (and have for over 100 YEARS!) you get a magical red at a fraction of normal Douro prices. Wouldn’t Xisto without you!
