About the wine
If the finest Rioja took a plunge into the richest Napa Cab...
- Huge and seriously silky all at once. As big as the Cabernet wines Macario is so famous for making, with the velvety smoothness that you can expect from a Tempranillo.
- Macario's found his specialty niche. He knows Cab inside out and he loves working with Spanish grapes in Californian soil. This is the blend he was born to make.
- This wine is all about balance and elegance. It's hefty enough to stand up to flashy Napa Cabs but elegant enough to be enjoyed with casual wine drinkers. And only Angels could make it possible!
Best before
This wine needs a bit of time to fully develop. I would give it a year before its ready to go but if you need to drink now, give it a few hours of decanting.

Meet the winemaker - Macario Montoya
Macario worked his way up from cellar worker to Napa and Sonoma star winemaker – leading by example for other Latino winemakers.
While Macario is Napa-based, he’s garnered attention for his Mediterranean-style wines in California – his Lodi blends and especially his Macario Montoya reds from Contra Costa’s heritage vineyards – whose label depiction of the old vines shows off the artistic talents of his brother, Maceo Montoya.
