About the wine
Bold, ripe Petit Verdot from award-winning winemaker
- Like plunging headfirst into a bowl of dark berries and cherries — this rich and intense red is a powerhouse you won’t soon forget.
- Angel funding helped Tom harvest sun-kissed Petit Verdot that was “perfectly ripe!” — these grapes hung on the vine a little longer to develop concentrated flavors, which he smoothed out with a generous oak aging.
- Big reds like Petit Verdot stand up well to rich, spicy stews and steak chili topped with roasted peppers, chives and a dollop of cream. The ultimate comfort duo!
Best before
The wine is ready to enjoy now, and will improve significantly over the next 6-12 months. Beyond that, I expect it to improve for the next 3-5 years.
Serving advice
This will show best at a temperature of 60-65ºF. As with all young reds, it will benefit from some air exposure. I prefer opening the wine 20-40 minutes before serving and pouring half a glass to give the wine time to breathe and develop.
Food match
The big flavors support equally big flavored foods. Aged or smoked hard cheeses, grilled steak, roast duck (even Peking Duck!), or Pasta alla Puttanesca. If you're adventurous, a moderately spicy chili would be fun!
Contains sulphites
