Von Strasser Sori Bricco Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
About the wine
Rudy's made world-famous Cab from this site since 1999
- Rich and full bodied, this Cabernet is flush with big fruit flavor – black cherries, off-the-vine blackberries and sunkissed plums.
One of the oldest hillside vineyard plantings overlooking Napa Valley, Diamond Mountain District's Sori Bricco block grows grapes made of gold – medals, that is. This vineyard is world-famous, and Rudy's thrilled to share it with you.
This Cabernet has the bright fruit, structure, and barrel regimen to age gracefully for decades. It has a few years of bottle age already, but the fun has just begun – it will get more complex with time. Get a few bottles for your library!
Best before
If you have a cool room or cellar (56 F or less) without a lot of temperature fluctuation, this wine will continue to improve for at least 20 years.
Serving advice
This wine will develop once the cork is pulled. I recommend decanting and serving soon thereafter. That way you can enjoy the wine as it changes... throughout the evening!
Food match
I love Sori Bricco Cabernet with game meats. My favorite pairing for this wine would be with venison or bison.
Contains sulphites
Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Rudy von Strasser
Rudy von Strasser is a Napa legend — he played a huge part in founding the Diamond Mountain District, famous for its Cabernet. By rallying everyone in the region, he put the AVA (American Viticultural Area) on the map in 1999!
Rudy met Naked through Alex Farber — he was looking to expand his portfolio with some beautiful Petite Sirah, but didn’t have enough room in his winery.
Angel funding helped make that Petite Sirah possible. When he brought us his other wines, we knew we’d hit the jackpot! Rudy’s now able to share his wide range of Diamond Mountain District wines with Angels across the country.
