Jorge Aleman's Story
Jorge's journey into the world of winemaking is anything but ordinary. It's a tale rooted in an authentic passion for the craft and a knack for finding magic in the everyday. His early years, spent within sight of Valle de Guadalupe's vineyards in Mexicali, Baja California, subtly sowed the seeds of this passion.
Even though Jorge's father had worked in the vineyards for most of his career, their family wasn't one to indulge heavily in wine. Yet, thanks to his mother's babysitting gigs, their home saw its fair share of esteemed wines received as gifts. His curiosity was always piqued—what made each wine special, and how did treasures like Opus One magically grace their dinner table?
It was as if the path to winemaking chose him, drawn by his laid-back attitude and genuine love for the craft. His first real job in the industry with Naked Wines was a leap into the unknown, but it fit him like a glove. Jorge thrived on hands-on work and the deep dive into the science of winemaking. Working with Naked Wines offered Jorge a dynamic learning environment, where he was mentored by several winemakers simultaneously. This variety turned learning into an adventure, filled with deeper insights rather than repetitive tasks, shaping him into an incredibly adaptable winemaker early on.
Harvest season can be brutal with its endless days but for Jorge, the reward of crafting something beautiful has always been worth the sacrifice. He picked up early on that winemaking isn't a one-size-fits-all deal; it's about carving out your niche and making wines that are true to you.
His wines aren't about dazzling the elite; they're crafted for those just dipping their toes into the wine world, looking for an honest, fuss-free way to reach that next level of quality and expression.

Besides wine, I'm a passionate wanna be foodie! I love to cook and experiment in the kitchen- of course with a glass of NW to keep my company. I love all of NW wines especially anything from Stefano di Blasi, Dave Harvey, Rabbitt and Spaghetti, the Michauds, Karen Birmingham, Stephen Millier, Daniel Baron, the Phillips, the Glaabs, the Dashe's.. the list is endless! From the great PNW with love, LaDonna ALWAYS needs more wine!
