- Born in Lisbon, Luis is a third-generation wine producer but the first in his family to have his own vineyards. His grandfather started the family winemaking business, which Luis now leads, to bring Angels a taste of Portugal.

Luis Vieira's Story
A third-generation wine producer and the first in his family to own vineyards, Luis Vieira is a Portuguese producer and entrepreneur who manages a team of winemakers and viticulturists in different wine regions. He inherited his love of wine from his grandfather, but his real passion was always to create his own line of wines. Angels made that happen. "Wine is truly part of my DNA," he said.
Luís and his team abides by the 5 winemaker laws, which include respecting the terroir and the identity of each wine region, helping to grow the local economy and showcasing Portuguese wines abroad. He also passes his advice to all the producers with whom he works.
Luis makes wines from vineyards in Lisbon, Tejo and Alentejo, with all care and detail, enhancing the terroir and the region. The estate in Lisbon is planted not only with a wide range of the classic Portuguese varieties, but also international varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah and Alicante Bouchet. His Capital wines come from Lisbon, while his Lente wines come from Alentejo. All labels have the footprint of the dog Montaria, in honor of the first dog that Luís had. His Reserve wines are aged in oak, while the others are not, so Angels have a choice depending on their preferences.
