Ondine Chattan Barrel Select Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2022
About the wine
This top-shelf Sonoma Pinot is a graceful dance of delicate flavors
Ondine’s lively, silky-smooth Pinot Noir is replete with juicy flavors like plum, raspberry and strawberries backed by a dash of baking spices. You’ll especially love the soft, toasted finish that comes with French oak aging.
Ondine lovingly refers to the Russian River Valley as “Pinot paradise.” Ever-changing levels of sun and fog help Pinot here ripen like nowhere else on earth. She’s the winemaker to capture the magic – with your support behind her.
As part of Ondine’s exclusive Barrel Select wines, this is a limited release, so don’t miss the chance to bring home a few bottles!
Best before
Long-term aging is not necessary, though it's nice to allow this Pinot a couple of weeks to 'settle down' after shipping. I estimate the best window for enjoyment will be between November 2023 and December 2025.
Serving advice
I like to allow Pinot a bit of time to open up, so opening the bottle 30-45 minutes prior to serving and gently swirling the wine in the class will help to open up the bouquet.
Food match
I love the earthy and fruity complexity of Pinot, so mushroom-based dishes are my favorites. Chicken with mushroom purée and Swiss chard will hit all the right notes.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Ondine Chattan
Unmistakably one of the North Coast’s top winemaking talents, Ondine Chattan’s worked for wine institutions – famed wineries like Ridge Vineyards, Cline Cellars, and spent decades running famed Healdsburg winery Geyser Peak.
Does Geyser Peak sound familiar? It should – it’s the long-time winemaking home of one legendary Daryl Groom – and it’s where these decades-long colleagues and friends met. They’re still close… in fact, they might collaborate on exclusive wines now and again.*wink.*
Ondine is awestruck by the wine community Angels have built – and she wants to help it grow. “I truly connect to people through the wines I make,” she said. “The stories of the growers, the vineyards, and the process behind the wine are as vital to me as grapes.”
