About the wine
Bold, barrel-aged Syrah-based red
This velvety red blend is a refined medley of ripe raspberry and blueberry, with a light pinch of toasty spice thanks to generous aging in oak barrels.
Your support gave Ondine access to Syrah, Petite Sirah and a bit of Grenache from her choice of vineyards across Mendocino, masterfully blending these powerhouse reds into one sultry showstopper just for you.
Ondine’s a Rhône-style blending expert, having made similar wines for legendary wineries like Ridge Vineyards. Now you help her channel that expertise into decadent reds like this from her favorite North Coast vineyards.

This wine is made for enjoyment in its youth - it is best enjoyed in the first 3-4 years after release.
Serving advice
Aeration is helpful in opening up the wine and revealing the fruit. Decanting is nice, but not necessary. Opening the bottle 15 or so minutes prior to serving and pouring the wine into a large-bowl glass and swirling it works.
Food match
This is a classic 'steak frites' wine. Another favorite is skillet shrimp and grits - a little cheese in the grits adds some weight and the tangy sauce on the shrimp plays well with the Syrah and Grenache.

Unmistakably one of the North Coast’s top winemaking talents, Ondine Chattan’s worked for wine institutions – famed wineries like Ridge Vineyards, Cline Cellars, and spent decades running famed Healdsburg winery Geyser Peak.
Does Geyser Peak sound familiar? It should – it’s the long-time winemaking home of one legendary Daryl Groom – and it’s where these decades-long colleagues and friends met. They’re still close… in fact, they might collaborate on exclusive wines now and again.*wink.*
