Lestonnat Pomerol 2012
About the wine
Angels conquer one of the world's most prestigious wines, the pinnacle of Bordeaux elitism
- Powerful and delicate all at once, this is best of class Bordeaux at its finest, full of rich black fruit, black liquorice and violet. Pomerol is one of France's finest wine regions, and this particular Pomerol has been showered in gold medals and other distinctions in competitions across Europe.
- But even the grandest Bordeaux wines aren't that expensive to make (the real cost is in sales and marketing) so Joost used your Angel funding to make this prestigious blend of 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon affordable to everyday wine drinkers.
- You want to keep a bottle of this wine laying down for a long time, and bust it out at a special occasion where you want to really live the high life. Think of a tender roast beef or filet mignon and a sumptuous glass of Pomerol.

Wine profile
Meet the winemaker - Joost de Villebois
Years Angel-funded: 2013-18
- Joost knows how to preserve the heritage of the Loire region while catering to new world consumers.
- He started out in the '90s, producing 2 barrels a year in an old farmhouse... now, with Villebois, he highlights all the best parts of French whites, 24/7. And he passed the Angel torch to his lead winemaker, Patrice Grasset- who makes the Loire Valley wines you love today!
- Winemaking's a real team effort, Joost says. He's so glad to have had you on part of his!
