THE SONNET 43 STORY The Sonnet 43 Story Sonnet 43 Brew House was inspired by the Victorian poet Elizabeth Barret Browning, who was born and raised in Coxhoe, the village where the brewery is based. She was an inspirational woman, highly respected in her field, strong-willed, outspoken with real fortitude virtually unheard of for a woman in her time. She didn't conform to societal norms or follow the crowd attributes we find very admirable. Of her plethora of poems, Sonnet 43 in particular spoke to us. The love she described translated perfectly for us to our love of craft beer. So much so we were inspired to pen our own sonnet on the topic… We love and respect the hoppy stuff it in all its glorious forms; brewing is how we express ourselves. Our brews are our interpretation of the beer styles we love drinking. We're passionate about seriously tasty pints and we aim to make ale that you'll want to drink time after time. The names of our brews also take their inspiration from Barret Browning's history, which you can find out more about on the Our Beers page. However, every now and again, we go rogue! For us this means stepping away from the rule book and entering an eccentric' mind-set. Beers you may be surprised by, that take on influences from our American counterparts and push the boundaries a little more to create seriously punchy flavours. Our curiosity fuelled by finding new ways to enjoy beer, so we're always tinkering away and love to try out new recipes and flavours. You can experience this with our experimental range; monthly one-off brews of whatever is tickling our fancy right now. Get them while you can, because once they're gone they really are gone! one Why Sonnet 43? We love and respect the hoppy stuff it in all its glorious forms; brewing is how we express ourselves. This time to me is a quiet release, It's a hug and a handshake, a break and belief. In gathering together with people we trust, We all take a moment to remember and fuss. Sit back and smile and wonder Stand up and laugh about blunders. Lean a bit closer and gather round beer, Making a case that you all have to hear. “Another”, is cried from across the bar, It's gusto, it's guts, it's all taste and heart. So, create those moments around you, When building big plans with a nice view. Bring me a sonnet, a song, and my wallet, I love it when beer is the right brew.

Our Angels support independent winemakers by investing £25 a month into their Naked Wines account, to spend whenever they want - in return for discounts, freebies, exclusive wines and more.
Smart move - you've found the Sweet Spot
When it comes to wine, a small step in price = a HUGE leap in quality and taste.
By spending £8-£11 for a bottle of wine, you're actually getting more than DOUBLE the quality of wine than a £6-£7 bottle.
Here's how it works...
In your average £6-£7 wine most of the price goes on fixed costs like taxes, duty, bottling and transport... leaving fewer pennies for the wine itself.
But by spending just a pound or two more, the majority of those fixed costs stay the same, so more pennies are going straight into the stuff you can actually taste, creating a big leap in quality.
